Reunion 2018 Recap and Photos

Wow – what a fun filled weekend the class of 1983 had! What follows are thanks, highlights, and photos! Enjoy!

Thanks

Thanks to our Reunion Chairs – Lisa Fagan Walts and Pamela Smith, the weekend was a huge success! With 80 alums 28 guests in attendance, we talked, we danced (a lot!), we laughed, and of course, we ate and drank!

Also contributing to a fantastic reunion were Alecia Oberg McClure for the survey and booklet, Gaby Crane Peterson for the parade signs, Jerri Barrett for leading our Friday night discussion panel, Susan Sterman Proctor for leading our Saturday night book group, Betsy Luebbe Garrott and Pamela Smith for showcasing our class archives and junior show, Charlotte Lehmann for Class Memorial Service, Nancy Barlow for Friday night dinner and parade costume, Mindy Setzler Kolodziej for Friday night M&Cs, Jody Frenkel Terry for Saturday cocktail hour, Sarah James Landis for being our IT guru, and Lisa Hawley Hiley and Shelly Kelly Manners for hospitality/welcome.

And special thanks to Moe Tracy, Lisa Oca and Marianne McDermott as head class agents helping our class raise over $130,000!

If I’ve missed anyone, my apologies.

Highlights

The reunion chairs put together an incredible weekend for us while we were in MacGregor Hall. Friday evening was the “Welcome Back Class of 1983 Dinner”, with a delicious menu catering to all dietary needs, ending with M&Cs consisting of strawberries dipped in chocolate and cookies!

Saturday was a beautiful (and HOT!) day on campus, and the parade was a highlight as always.  Many attended the Alumnae Association meeting, where Jerri Barrett gave her speech as Class President. Then on to the lunch and class photo, and then various wanderings around upper and lower lake, the Odyssey and all the other events MHC had to offer that weekend.

Saturday evening started with the Class Meeting (see notes here), a lovely Memorial Service headed by Charlotte Lehman, cocktail reception, and music by the Chill Harmonics acapella group with our classmate Pamela Smith. After dinner in the new “Super-Blanch”, we headed back to our dorm for a 1980’s joint dance party with the class of 1988 and uber-DJ Amy West.

And then thankfully Sunday was a day of recovery!
