2013 Reunion Recap and Photos

Wow – what a fun filled weekend the class of 1983 had! What follows are thanks, highlights, and photos! Enjoy!

Thanks

Thanks to our Reunion Chairs – Moe Tracy, Lisa Oca, and Marianne McDermitt, the weekend was a huge success! With about 90 alums in attendance, we talked, we danced (a lot!), we laughed, and of course, we ate and drank!

Also contributing to a fantastic reunion were Pamela Smith, Lisa Hawley Hiley, and Sarah James Landise for the survey and booklet, Gaby Crane Peterson for the parade signs, Charlotte Lehmann for meditation, Theresa Connolly Mihalopoulos for yoga, Judith Westley for the walk/runs, Charlotte Lehmann and Cheryl Baulding for their Reinventing Yourself panel, Kathy Saradarian & Linda Whitehead for their Parenting Parents panel, and Abbie Deenen and Alecia Oberg McClure for hospitality/welcome.

And special thanks to Alice Adderholdt Engel for stepping in as Head Class Agent and helping our class raise over $100,000!

If I’ve missed anyone, my apologies.

Highlights

The reunion chairs put together an incredible weekend for us while we were in Creighton Hall. Friday evening was the “Welcome Back Class of 1983 Light Dinner”, with snacks, sub sandwiches, and some good music from the iPhone!

Saturday was a beautiful day on campus, and the parade was a highlight as always. Many attended the Alumnae Association meeting, where Lisa Fagan Walts gave her speech as Class President (with only 1 error we think – Maya Angelou was NOT at our commencement! Sigh).

Then on to the College Picnic and class photo, and then various wanderings around upper and lower lake, the Odyssey, the Campus Bookstore, the Fireside Chats held in our dorm, and all the other events MHC had to offer that weekend.

Saturday evening started with the Class Meeting (see notes here), a cocktail reception, and a fantastic dinner. Entertainment began with Michelle Brooks-Thompson, MHC Class of ’06 and recent contestant on “The Voice”, and then segued into DJ Amy West and a co-party with the class of 1993. And the night continued – until 1am, when even the class of 1993 got tired!

And then thankfully Sunday was a day of recovery! Check out our photos below.
